Studio Update

May 11 2023

Not much of an image to upload today but nonetheless this is where I start from. The preparation of the Belgian Linen that I use is loom state so needs pre stretching before priming, a little deionised water is used to tighten and stretch the linen once pinned to a stretcher frame.. Once stretched and pre primed I then mount this onto a panel using a museum grade adhesive. I use a home made heated vacuum press for this. Once the pre primed linen is mounted to the panel I then finish the priming with a lead based ground for oil painting. For those of you that love giraffe watch this space. 140 x 90 cm (55inch x 35 inch approximately) I hope you enjoy.
