Studio Update

As usual the artists colours simply do not translate into a photograph very well. They are much more saturated in the actual artwork. At this stage the vessel has been carved and the base colour has been blocked in. I hope you enjoy the process. For me personally I have to remind myself to enjoy the actual making of the work too not just the finished artwork. I still have all of the detail to do and subtle blending of colours to represent a beautiful African sunset.

I love the glowing effect as the lighter layers of paint are applied. The mental picture of the golden light of an African sunset is starting to take shape. I hope this post shines a little golden light on your day too.
