Today starting from scratch again. Pencil on sanded wood. This piece is a sunset hunt of lion and zebra loosely based on a savanna scene in the Masai Mara. The two lionesses are sketched in using some anatomical reference and memories as well as pictures I have taken in Africa. There will still be some refinement of the lion at this stage sketched in for size and placement in the composition.

Working on the basic carved shapes in this piece, blocking in if you like. This piece is to go with the cheetah hunting vessel so has a similar theme although a differing subject. This one is lion hunting zebra in sunset colours. Hopefully they will go together well.
